AARP Driver Safety is celebrating Black History Month by inviting AARP members and nonmembers to take its online course at a discounted rate of $5 from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28,2013. The course normally costs $15.95 for AARP members and $19.95 for nonmembers.*
Why take the course?
Even the most experienced drivers can benefit from brushing up on their driving skills. The AARP Driver Safety course teaches valuable defensive driving techniques and provides a refresher about the rules of the road. Plus, in some states, completing the course could qualify you for a multiyear automobile insurance discount. (Contact your insurance agent for details.)
How do I redeem the $5 offer?
Visit the AARP Driver Safety online course site. Select the “Sign Up” button and enter the promo code BHM2013 when prompted. Participants will have until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Feb. 28 to register using the promo code. Upon registration, participants have 60 days to complete the online course.
Who can take the discounted course?
The AARP Driver Safety Black History Month promotion is available to drivers of all ages who would like to refresh their driving skills.** The online course is available in both English and Spanish.
When can I take the course?
The promotion is valid for the AARP Driver Safety online course using the promo code BHM2013 from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28, 2013. Although participants must register for the course by Feb. 28, they will have 60 days to complete the course from the day of registration. For example, if a participant registers on Feb. 28, he or she has until April 29 to complete the course.
Can I receive a discounted classroom course through this promotion?
No, AARP Driver Safety’s Black History Month promotion is valid for the online course only. If you would like to take a classroom course outside of this promotion, visit AARP Driver Safety’s classroom course locator to find a course in your area.
Does the online course have any tests?
There are no tests to pass — just valuable information to help keep you and your family safe on the road. You can take the online course at your own pace from the comfort of your own home.
*In New York, the online course normally costs $23.95 for AARP members and $27.95 for nonmembers.
**The State of New Mexico prohibits AARP from offering the course to participants under the age of 55.
